The Confederate States of America (CSA), commonly known as the Confederate States (C.S. or CS), is a country composed of 17 states and various territories and possessions. Located in North America, the Confederate States is home to over 144 million citizens. The capital is Richmond and the largest city by population is Houston. Sixteen of the Confederate States' states are contiguous in North America between the United States and Mexico. The State of Cuba is located in the Caribbean Sea, ninety miles off the coast of the mainland.
