1904[edit | edit source]

  • The Strasny avoids the mine by Port Arthur. Admiral Stepan Makarov does not die.

1905[edit | edit source]

  • The Battle of Tsushima takes place. Admiral Makarov assumes command of the Russian fleets. The Russian and Japanese fleets battle to a draw.

1906[edit | edit source]

  • Japan formally surrenders to the Russians. In the peace terms, Russia annexes Port Arthur, Sakhalin, and establishes a protectorate over Manchuria. Japan is left in financial ruin. As a result, civil unrest begins to take foot in Japan, with people such as Sakai Toshihiko rising to prominence in political circles.
